However, there were about 44.8 percent who preferred both as the right match for seeking jobs. As both companies have their own pros and cons. However, there were also 46 percent respondents who felt that large companies are not good workplaces because of unhealthy competition, lack of career opportunities, long working hours and few more to add on to their worries.

And when it comes to choosing jobs, engineering grads certainly have some reason attached. So there were about 23 percent respondents who considered challenging responsibilities as the top priority to take up a job. Wherein 22 percent respondents considered brand name of the company as the top reason for accepting a job.  Proximity to home came third on the list with 16 respondents seeing it first option in the list guiding their decision.

T Muralidharan, executive chairman, TMI Group said, "The findings come as a relief given the number of engineering graduates getting added to the pool of jobseekers every year and recruitments in large companies falling drastically. This is the right time for SMEs to highlight the advantages of working with the sector and the benefits they can provide to their employees.”
