Pondicherry University



Situated in an area with one of the best quality of life, excellent infrastructure, and arguably the best literacy rates in the country, Pondicherry University is the pride of the people living in this region. Set up by the Government of India under an act of the parliament in the year 1985, this varsity is a collegiate university with a jurisdiction spread over three Union Territories, namely, Pondicherry, Lakshadweep, and the islands of Andaman and Nicobar.



Pioneer of innovations such as the Choice-based Credit System and on-line admission for postgraduate studies, this university has about 35,000 students in its 87 affiliated colleges.
