Born on 12th January 1964 , Jeff Bezos is an American Internet entrepreneur and investor. As the founder and CEO of Amazon.com, which is an online merchant of books and a wide variety of products, he has played a key role in the growth of e-commerce. Under his guidance, Amazon.com has become the largest retailer on the World Wide Web and a top model for Internet sales.

Often dubbed as the next Steve Jobs, Bezos hogged the lime light in 2013 with his brainchild making $17.1 billion in net sales in the third quarter and increasing active users by a staggering 19 percent. His acquisition of The Washington Post for $250 million also made headlines the previous year.

Bezos is ranked as the second best CEO in the world by Harvard Business Review after Steve Jobs of Apple, and was also named as the Businessperson of The Year by Fortune in the 2012.
