Kanpur IITian Tops The Civil Services Examination 2013

For the first time after six years of his promising career, an idea of doing something constructive for the nation struck him. The first time, he cracked the IAS in 2013 he inducted into Indian Police Service. Wanting to help his people back home, the IIT-ian changed his perspective and re-appeared for the exam and got qualified. He is currently undergoing training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad.



"My assignments in Hong Kong to understand people's needs and trying to resolve the same changed my perspective. I realized that all my wisdom and experience I gained must be used to benefit my own people back home," said an elated Agarwal over phone from Sardar Vallabhbhai National Academy.



Based on an announcement from the Ministry of Personnel, among the top 25 positions, there are 15 males and 10 females.  The release also states that about 1, 122 members are being appointed in Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and other central services on the basis of the Civil Services Examination, 2013.
