4. Not Keeping Track: It is essential for a job seeker to keep a track of the jobs that he has applied for. If they fail to do so, then chances are that they might be caught unaware when the recruiter approaches them in response to their application.

The fact that such candidates don't even remember when or how they applied for that particular position, essentially questions their level of interest.

5. Not Having Enough Keywords: While drafting the CV to apply online, an aspiring job applicant must be aware of and incorporate the keywords that a recruiter might use to search for the profiles that are in line with the requirements and add weight to the CV.

This can be done by carrying out a thorough research and using powerful keywords that will highlight his profile among the top searches.

6. The One-Size-Fits-All CV: Most job applicants tend to use the same the CV for all positions. Majority of them don't even bother to update or tweak the elements to match the profile being applied. This creates a negative impression in the eyes of the recruiter and the applicant in all probability will be labeled as individual who lack the necessary credentials. As a result of which the recipient usually opt to delete such mails before even reading it.

Recent studies have shown that emails written with proper greetings and addressed to the concerned individual stand a better chance of being read and taken seriously.
