With approximately 177 offers, Reliance Industries emerged as the second the highest recruiter this placement season. Though the numbers are not as high as the previous year, RIL’s lively participation was a positive sign. In a written response to ET, a Reliance Industries spokesperson was quoted saying, "Other than some 45 PPOs, RIL has hired 132 students from 8 IITs - Delhi, Bombay, Roorkee, Kharagpur, Guwahati, Madras, Kanpur and IITBHU. In addition to this, Reliance Jio hired 5 GETs, one from IIT-Hyderabad and 4 from IIT-Indore."

Oracle was the next big recruiter with 135 offers. And the fact that the tech conglomerate made few U.S. based offers for the first time this placement season brought smiles on the faces of a number of students.

In the words of a company’s spokesperson, "Oracle has a number of different business groups internally and we hire students across a variety of positions. Many students will join Oracle, working in product development roles across our hardware, software or industry-specific based groups."
