Bangalore: Crore plus pay packages are making a grand re-entry at the IITs after a gap of nearly three years, reports Sreeradha D Basu and Devina Sengupta of ET Bureau.

Two computer science students from IIT-Madras have bagged offers worth 1.31 crore ($210,000) for international roles during the current placement season. Though the institute refused to disclose the name of the company, the sources revealed that it was Oracle that made the massive compensation offer, which include a joining bonus.

Meanwhile the highest pay package for a domestic role at IIT-Madras saw a rise of about 19.89 lakh compared to the previous year and stood at 48.68 lakh.

The good news doesn’t end there. Even the sister institutes at Kharagpur and Guwahati saw a good employer turnout and fat pay packages were awarded to many students.
