IISc, the Sole Indian Entry in the Elite 500 Club

The usual –entries such as Harvard, Stanford and University of California, Berkeley deservingly garnered the first three positions, while the fourth and fifth spot were bagged by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Cambridge University, respectively.



Stanford garnered top honors in Computer Science, while MIT and University of California bagged the next two positions on the list. In Mathematics, Princeton University ruled the roost. It was closely followed by Harvard and University of California, Berkeley.



Harvard was honored as the best in Physics, Chemistry and Economics. MIT and University of California, Berkeley, emerged as the second and third best universities to study Physics, while University of California, Berkeley, and Stanford surfaced as the next best after Harvard to study Chemistry.



In Economics, it is University of Chicago that secured the second position, closely followed by MIT at the third position.
