Bangalore: Today many employers prefer to promptly conduct more interviews with worldwide applicants by conducting preliminary job interviews through video conference. Now the question arises here is, Are you asked by any interviewer to give a video conference interview? If yes, then it is advisable for you not to worry as this kind of an interview is not very different from the regular face to face job interview that you may have already experienced. Only the difference between the two is the meeting place. According to Ewan Cambell MacDougall of “Career Flux” website listed below are the tips for success in a video conference interview.

1. Requirements: Firstly, in order to give a video conference interview you need to find a place from where you can access a webcam and a high speed internet connection. It’s quite fine if you already have these facilities at home as most people today already have these in their homes or even on their smart phones. Even if you are not having this technology, you can easily avail this from libraries. Your interviewer will surely specify which software they wish you to use so you will definitely need video conferencing software like Skype, LifeSize or Yahoo! Messenger. While using a laptop or phone camera make sure to rest the camera on a stable surface. You should avoid holding the camera in your hand as it can be disturbing having the image moving around repeatedly; likewise keep your hands available to write things down and do remember to demonstrate positive body language.
