4. Extra-Curricular: As the academics are quite dull, the extra-curricular activities emerge to be the main factor of many IITians’ existence. The institute hosts at least two festivals in a year, a cultural festival and a technical/engineering festival. These big festivals are 3-5 day events with huge budgets that are completely executed by students. Apart from the large festivals, there are inter-hostel events like writing, quizzing, dance, theatre, music, sports etc. These events are taken very seriously by the hostelities as hostel bragging rights depend on the performance of these events. IITs are considered the wonderful places to learn from other fellow companions who are experts in things, which you crave to learn.

5. Language: Detailing the language of the IITians, the author highlights the IIT campus as an isolated and enclosed area which is far from civilization, as the students, who mostly have the superiority complex, speaks in an elaborate, highly-campus specific slang that would sound mysterious to outsiders.
