History Channel, CBSE Collaborate to Conserve Indian Monuments

NEW DELHI: Popular entertainment channel History and the Central Board of Secondary Education today announced a partnership to promote education and conservation of Indian monuments through schools affiliated to the board.
The partnership envisages holding heritage quiz competition involving about 1000 schools. UNESCO will also play an active part in this initiative by putting together some questions, said a release quoting CBSE Chairman Vineet Joshi.
"Association between CBSE and History will provide a wider platform to CBSE to reach out to more and more schools and boost its drive to promote educational innovations and Preserve and Protect heritage monuments in the country," Joshi was quoted as saying.
President of A+E Networks/TV 18 Ajay Chacko said, "Our association with CBSE is two-fold with respect to promoting education and conservation of historical monuments.
