Such long waits for joining are troublesome for grads as they risk losing their ‘fresher’ tag and valuable work-experience. One student even complained that they were not able to pursue higher studies, since HCL kept them busy with the Front Runner Program test, which was a mandatory entry-level online test for fresh recruits.

Grads with LoI were also given a choice to join HCL Infrastructure instead of HCL Tech, but at lower salary, which did not go well with the grads.

Anshul, a grad from Agrasen Institute of Technology, said that the job offered in HCL Infrastructure is much like a BPO job which cannot be accepted, as they risk losing their future career.

The grads shouted slogans against the company and said that they were ready to go on a hunger strike if the firm refuses to disclose the information about their joining date.
