6. James Abram Garfield [1831-1881]:

Garfield was the 20th American President served in the year 1881. His Presidential term was considered as the second shortest term. He acquired the throne after completing nine consecutive terms in the U.S. House of Representatives. He came from a modest background and he was raised in an obscurity on an Ohio farm by his mother and brother. To fill his educational fee, Garfield worked as a carpenter. He served as a priest at a Christian church and at the same time he decided to try as principal of a high school in New York, but after he was unsuccessful in getting that job, he became an instructor at the Eclectic Institute. There he taught classical languages and later he was made the principal of that institution.

7. William Howard Taft [1857-1930]:

Taft was the 27th President of the United States served from 1909-1913. After completion of the presidential post, he became the tenth Chief Justice of the U.S. By this he was considered as the only person who had served in both offices. Before he became the President Taft was in the legal field, by working as an assistant prosecutor for his county in Ohio. Later, he was selected as the local collector of internal revenue. He was also appointed as the judge in the Ohio Superior Court.
