Employee Referrals And Direct Hiring Channels Rule The Roost Among India Inc

Cash incentives, the satisfaction that comes by helping others, the rewards in kind and the prospects of sharing space with like-minded people are viewed as the major reasons that is driving this trend and motivating employees to refer others.   



Mohinish Sinha, leader, leadership and talent practice, Hay Group, India says, "Most companies have institutionalized the process for hiring across levels. People mostly scout for talent through their links with business heads across organizations on LinkedIn, for instance, and ask for referrals amongst their contacts."    



Sandeep Gandhi, Aircel's chief human resource officer believes that, "Employee referrals work faster than consultants." As per him, the turnaround time for finalizing a candidate is smaller with regards to referrals. This is because recruiters don't necessarily need to spend time persuading the candidate, thereby saving valuable time and time.
