'Employee Engagement High Among Indians'

NEW DELHI: About half the Indian workers in a survey have said that they feel fully committed or engaged with their current employer.

A total of 41 percent of the respondents in the country said they were "totally committed" to their current employer, according to the latest results from Kelly Global Workforce Index titled 'Engaging Active and Passive Job Seekers (KGWI).

Across APAC (Asia-Pacific), the most engaged employees are in India and Indonesia, with the lowest being in Thailand and Singapore, it said.

Across India, 52 percent of the employees said they feel valued at work, a level that has remained steady over the past three years.

"One of the major challenges for employers is to rebuild confidence and trust among employees who have been impacted by economic slowdown and job uncertainty. Employee engagement continues to be one of the prime tools to keep employees engaged which helps in retaining talent as well.

"Companies with engaged and committed employees are frequently rewarded with better worker performance, higher productivity, less absenteeism, lower turnover, and higher customer satisfaction," said Kamal Karanth, Managing Director, Kelly Services India.
The survey took responses from around 2,30,000 people across 31 countries with more than 4,000 mid and senior level respondents from India.
