6. Not Maintaining Your Network:



Another mistake most professionals commonly make is networking only when it is required and if it is of immediate value. By doing so they fail to realize that they can come into view as self-serving individual and may deter contacts from referring / advocating for them in the long run.



Presently, most people think of networking as something that is required only when they are on a look out for a job or otherwise trying to get something, and after landing a job, all of the networking stops. This is a blunder, because the best networking occurs when you are not looking for any favors. This is when you can establish genuine relationships with others and really learn about helping each other. The best networking is often mutually beneficial to both the concerned parties. Besides, you don't want to turn out to be known as an individual who only reaches out when there is a need for something.
