Delhi Government To Employ Acid Attack Victims

BANGALORE: Delhi government has come up with a commendable initiative of providing jobs to acid attack survivors. Along these lines, the local government has set up a committee that would deal with issues of the acid attack sufferers, India Today.



The decision was made considering a plea presented by the acid attack victims to the chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal. The plea proposed for government employment for these survivors who are at the receiving end of the social stigma.



Following the proposal made at the minister’s camp office, Kejriwal has passed an order to search for vacancies for the 35 victims residing in the city. The government would hire them judging their capabilities and convenience as some has problems in moving around or are visually impaired.  



The service department has received orders to send in applications to these victims according to their educational qualifications and vacancies available.



Besides asking for employment these victims have also proposed for easily accessible treatments at hospitals, bringing their long standing cases to fast-track courts and regulate the selling of acids.
