Social justice being a hallmark of Oberlin’s culture, more than 1,500 students participates every year in some form of community service. Last spring, Oberlin held a competition in their campus named ‘Ecolympics’ which lasted for about 2 weeks.  where dorms competed with each other to save energy. During the competition, Oberlin also hosted community events like film screenings, guest speakers, and how-to demonstrations.
