Bangalore Tops in NRI Hiring Than Any Other Indian Cities

Bangalore: Bangalore, being the top IT hub of the country has turned out to be the first preference for more number of NRIs as it is hiring more NRI professionals, compared to any other Indian cities. During the first quarter of 2012, with an average of 29 percent of NRI professionals hiring rate [with more than three years of experience], Bangalore tops the list, in the study conducted by MyHiringClub, a global recruitment service provider, reports Mini Joseph Tejaswi of the Times of India.



With 27 percent, Delhi/NCR stands next to Bangalore, Mumbai with 26 percent, Hyderabad 18 percent, and both Chennai and Kolkata marks an average of 16 percent for hiring NRIs in the Jan-March quarter 2012.



Even though, the hiring rate was not high in the last financial year the demand for NRIs have remarkably improved. The top hiring sectors like IT, Pharma and healthcare are more preferred to hire candidates with global exposure. According to Rajesh Kumar, CEO of MyHiringClub said that, as most of these companies are entering to a global scenario, they probably look for candidates who have better understanding of global practices and market explicitness. 



Among the total lateral hiring in India, NRIs reported for 21 percent, the report says. The study also finds a 5 percent increase over the 16 percent of preceding quarter. The maximum number of NRI hiring reported in IT & ITeS industry with a 23 percent of hiring. Pharma and healthcare with 21 percent and FMCG 18 percent and infrastructure with 11 percent tops in the list of industries with highest hiring rate of NRIs.
