Indian Corporates Score High On Employee Engagement With 46 Pct Engaged Employees

BENGALURU: Dale Carnegie Training, announced findings of its flagship Employee Engagement in India 2014. According to the study, Indian employees are significantly more engaged than their global counterparts with 46 percent employees fully engaged compared to the global average of 30 percent. Overall, just 9 percent of Indian employees are genuinely dissatisfied with their jobs, as compared to a worrisome 20 percent across the APAC region. 

According to the report, large companies in India with more than 100,000 employees tend to have the lowest amount of disengaged employees (just 5 percent). Further, engagement level steadily increases with longer tenure with a solid 76 percent of those working for 20-25 years at the same organization being highly engaged. A closer look at the employee-supervisor relationship highlights 87 percent of Indian employees did not report any dissatisfaction with their immediate supervisor, against 24% of APAC and 18 percent global respondents.  Compared to other countries, 31 percent of Indian employees have shown confidence in their senior management reflecting higher satisfaction levels.
