Bangalore: The present Indian recruiters are more behind recruiting female employees as they have put a hold on recruiting men workers to achieve the gender balance at the workplace. So, for this reason, male candidates’ applications are put on hold as they are concentrating on women candidates applications and also it has been reported that they are extending their deadlines to chase the best women candidates for their companies and because of that the job openings are remaining available for long time, reports Namrata Singh on the Times of India [TOI] website.

But a section of hiring agencies reported TOI that, they were neither able to meet the gender diversity objectives of the firms nor they weren’t able to do justice to the applications submitted by male candidates.   Even the deadlines of submitting the applications have been extended to 90 days which was supposed to close within 30 to 45 days just to gain more applications from women applicants.

As many companies are waiting for three to four months to get as much applications from the women employees, almost quarter of the positions are lying vacant from the past three quarters.

According to the internal data of the last three quarters released by Elixir Consulting, a recruitment process outsourcing firm reported that, for every resume that was shortlisted, there was a ratio of 1:4 [male: female] that was made compulsory with opening positions. The current trend in Indian job market is that, the companies find only 1 female candidate per 10 male candidates who have applied for the job. The surprising thing is that, the companies too are ready to let go 10 extremely talented male candidate ids to get one equally talented female candidate.
