India Records 14 Pct Rise in Online Recruitment: Monster Employment Index

BANGALORE: India is on its way to become a global hub for human resource sourcing in the coming years with information technology industry leading the way. As electronic recruitment is gaining lot of attention among Indians, this process of recruiting is growing very rapidly and will continues to grow more effectively in the years to come, reports the Economic Times.



According to the Monster Employment Index, India has seen 14 percent rise in online recruitment year after year and that’s a great sign for the economy as well as for the job market. The index showed that online recruitment activity exceeded the last year’s margin with 17 of the 27 industry sectors monitored by the Monster Employment Index. The IT-hardware and software leads the pack with a sharp rise of 33 percent in all industry sectors in terms of annual growth, followed by travel and tourism by 32 percent. Other sectors that did well were production and manufacturing by 32 percent, healthcare, bio technology, life sciences, pharmaceuticals by 30 percent and home appliances by 28 percent. Automotive, ancillary and tyres saw a reduction by 13 percent and registered the most notable decline by month as well as by year.
