Hiring Activity in India Rises by 2pct Across all Sectors in Oct 2015

BENGALURU: The festive season of Diwali saw a 2pct increase in recruitment in all sectors. Times Jobs and RecruiteX considers this a better scene than Diwali 2014, when the recruitment rate had dropped down, reports Economic Times.



A 2pct rise in talent acquisition was witnessed between August and October 2015, while there was a 2pct steady decline in the same last year.



The top recruiters in October 2015 were IT, telecom, ITeS and consulting services. Consulting sector witnessed a pull of 9pct growth in talent demand, fastest of all markets.



Engineers experienced a 2pct rise in demand after a continuous two month dead span.
 



Vivek Madhukar, COO, TimesJobs.com said "Hi-Tech skills and the burgeoning tech-based entrepreneurial spirit are the new growth engines of the Indian economy. Initiatives like Digital India, Smart Cities, Make in India, etc. when coupled with easy availability of capital and improved networking infrastructure are creating unforeseen opportunities and changing the economy. The job-markets are reflecting this economic paradigm shift.”



Freshers and entry level jobs with experience of 0-2years rose upto 11pct. In the last three months, the same as a whole registered 4pct rise in demand.



The survey shows n hike in recruitment in all Indian metros except Delhi. Chennai leads the list with 16pct, Bengaluru at 14pct and Ahmedabad with 10pct.
