Google Offers Package Of 1.40 Crore At BITS-Pilani

BANGALORE: Job hunting is a tedious task, in spite of companies expanding all over. Studying in prestigious colleges and universities is only job half done, for the job hunting process and campus placements are important events in a student’s life. Being well prepared, and having the right attitude are very important characteristics of a student.



A growing number of universities and colleges are aiming to grab the opportunity of inviting top companies for their campus placements to provide the right start and prestigious career options for their students.



The placement season has begun this year and at BITS-Pilani, some exciting events are taking place. Google conducted its first round of written test on August 18 at the Pilani campus.



The Internet giant offered an annual package of 1.40 crore to this year’s selected students. The institute hopes to break its last year’s record of 1.44 crore package that was offer by Facebook. "A good number of students sat for the first round. We hope that a few of our students will make to the final selection," said G Balasubramanium, chief placement officer at BITS-Pilani; reports The Times of India.



The campus also saw some big names like LinkedIn, Microsoft, Flipkart, Schlumberger, Goldman Sachs, and Amazon come in with an increased compensation offer by 5-25 percent, which surely indicates of better job prospects and opportunities to students.



This year about 150 students have already been placed at the Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad campuses and total of 2,300 students are eligible for the placements. However, a few of the students opted out of the placement process to start their own businesses and become successful entrepreneurs in their desired fields.
