B-Schools Set To Bloom As E-Commerce Firms Offers Early Pre-Placements

BANGALORE: Pre-placement offers at top business schools seem to have a constant flow and are likely to receive a solid placement season ahead. Several B-schools have witnessed the offers double from the previous year as companies that include Boston Consulting Group, Vodafone, Amazon, and Godrej have regularly used this path to lure potential talent, reports ET



Post summer, the pre-placement offers that include internship will make its way into campuses and is likely to go on till December. The Management Development Institute at Gurgaon has obtained around 31 offers till date from what was 14-15 the previous year.



This includes companies like Aditya Birla Group, Vodafone, PepsiCo, Reckitt Benckiser, IBM and the Boston Consulting Group.



Similarly, IIM Kozhikode is also expecting an increase of at least 10 per cent. This year, The Boston Consulting Group that had created a 47 pre-placement offer across B-schools, this is 47 per cent more than the number in 2014. IM Bangalore is also anticipating the number of PPOs to increase this year while Campus hiring requirements has received a boost at Godrej with around 20 per cent for this year.



Ashok Ramchandran, Director, HR at Vodafone said, “We continue to hold similar focus in hiring and rigor in building our talent pipeline through our flagship management trainee program called Discover.”



This year the exchange rate from summer internships to PPOs has received a boost of  22 per cent at telecom operator Vodafone. Vodafone had created around 100 summer internship offers in the previous year out of which 58 per cent had obtained PPOs from the company across law schools, B-schools and engineering colleges.
