The ability to share documents and other files via e-mail and cloud services is creating a big dent in the courier business. In fact soon or later we could see the bike delivery messenger fade away and make way for emails and other new services in this job field. According to the BLS report similar shifts like these hurting the Postal Service, where mail-carrier positions are being reduced by an estimated 26.8 percent by 2022.  The other factor that haunts this job is lack of adaptability of new technology and that has contributed to its downfall.  Individuals at present use the E-mail facility which provides faster access than the old schooled door deliveries. And this is the issue that is declining the numbers of postal service workers.
"Routes and sorting can be done more and more by computer now," said Shatkin career expert. "So there are a lot less people needed to move stuff around."
