Chefs and head cooks are the true multi-taskers. There are in charge of everything at a restaurant’s kitchen, starting from training and managing kitchen staff to preparing new dishes or recipes.



Becoming a chef or a head cook is a daunting task. The opportunities are very limited during the early stages and the starting salary is not very great. In addition, the pressure of running a kitchen can be extremely stress-full, plus the long working hours and lack of work-life balance can be nerve-racking.



As per the PayScale website, the median salary for these professions is approximately 2.81 lakh, which is not that great. And the lower 10 percent of these professionals draw a mediocre salary of about 1.19 lakh, which is very less in the present economic situation.
