IAS or UPSC civil service exams evidently need a rough handling to get passed. The inflexibility in formats of question papers tends to create mental discomfort in candidates. Moreover the civil services exam is basically a test to select the most refined and efficient administrators. It tests the candidate right from his/her preparation stage including their aptitude and qualities like power of retention, clarity of concepts, ability to identify the correct alternatives; accurately and efficiently. The basic concept behind civil service exam is testing the decision making power of the candidates and presence of mind and spontaneity which is evaluated during the interview.
