BENGALURU: In Narendra Modi's regime, education has been one among the flashpoints and it is been figured as one the "nine pillars" of Arun Jaitley's Budget. These two keywords ‘skill’ and ‘research’ defines this year’s education budget as the government is keen to keep the focus on higher education at the cost of primary and secondary education. A year back, Arun Jaitley's previous Budget had cut overall allocation for the education sector but pumped up funds for higher education by 22 percent. This strain remained in Monday's Budget as well — the focus was on higher education amid ambitious drives such as 'Make in India' and 'Digital India', reports catch News.
