Selco has bought light into the lives of millions of Indians living in the rural part of the country. Established in 1995, this social enterprise is on a mission to improve the quality of life of underprivileged households in rural part of the nation and expel three myths associated with social ventures and the poor, i.e. poor cannot afford sustainable technologies, they cannot maintain sustainable technology and social ventures cannot be run as commercial entities.



By providing sustainable energy solutions and services, this lively organization has currently employed approximately 170 employees in Karnataka and Gujarat. And since its inception, the company has sold, serviced and financed around 1.15 lakh solar systems to customers across the two states.



This unique venture also aims to empower the underprivileged by providing them with a complete package that includes the actual product, required services, plus the funding options through commercial banks, Grameen banks, cooperative societies, and other micro-finance institutions.
