#5 File Clerk: Thinking of taking up a job as a file clerk? Well, you may want to rethink on this plan. File clerks are discovering that emergence of new technology are making  a serious dent on their profession as handling files is not what it used to be at the recent past.  In fact, the number of file clerks is expected to drop by 5,300 workers from 2012 through 2022, according to Bureau of labor statistics.
Why it's in crisis: Introduction of electronic and online filing systems has certainly made things difficult for these professionals; in fact it has adverse effect on the hiring prospects of file clerks. Individuals working under this profession were once needed to physically handle paper documents, but that’s not the case now; they most often spend time gathering documents online or through other electronic service.  Another factor  that is playing on the minds of these professionals is that individuals now want information at the tip of their fingers, so a lot of the people who have been performing this job function are no longer in demand.
