Job #5: Tax Examiner and Collector: With the future being digital, the tax examiner and collector job certainly looks bleak and disappointing. And to add on to this government agencies have not been hiring tax examiners and collectors as much as they did because of reduced budgets.
Tax examiners are the individuals who typically deal with tax returns filed by individuals and small businesses, whether at the municipal, state or federal level. They confirm that taxpayers are claiming the appropriate deductions, credits, assess penalties, interest and fees as necessary. The Department of Labor notes that employment for these workers is expected to decline by 4 percent by 2022. As the job field depends primarily on future changes to local, state, and federal government budgets the future could be even more disappointing with the newer technology coming into the tax systems. In fact in recent years, government agencies have also stopped hiring tax examiners and collectors as much because of reduced budgets.
