The Armed Forces and Other Government Jobs:

Probably the best way of serving the nation for a high school pass out is to join the Armed Forces. Life would then be streamlined in accordance with discipline as one takes pride in protecting his/her country or even contributing to the cause. Several posts exist at the government sectors like the PWDs, Railways etc. for which the minimum eligibility is a pass at senior school level examination. Jobs in the government sectors are highly sought after given they guarantee maximum job security, opportunities for promotions and pension upon retirement.  However, the entry is highly competitive with even PG degree holders appearing for examinations that recruit for position of Lower Division Clerks and peons. Pretty counterintuitive for the selfish overqualified, yet it appears to be a flawless Indian logic.
