A Bachelor’s degree in hardware, computer or electrical engineering can earn you big bucks if you land yourself a job as a systems engineer. A systems engineer's primary focus is how to design or manage an engineering project. According to the International Council of System Engineering, an engineer in this field will focus on several clients needs and wants during the system building process, from project definition to design implementation. According to BLS report, employment of systems engineers is projected to grow 5 percent by 2022, this occupation is versatile both in the kind of work it does and in the industries in which its expertise can be put to use. Systems engineers usually require a degree in one of the engineering disciplines, such as electrical engineering, industrial engineering, or mechanical engineering. Most employers require some relevant work experience in the field.
