Prioritizing the New Responsibilities Before the Existing Ones
Accepting new responsibilities with a happy face makes you one of the most efficient workers. But between taking a responsibility and maintaining them lies a big difference. Carrying out new responsibilities should never lead to forgetting the current and old ones. Every responsibility assigned to you is your duty, to be carried out. If you value the new and forget the old, it will put a red mark on your successful career achievements. Make sure your main responsibilities are completed within time before you plan for any extra activity.
Improving but Not Expressing
Every time, keeping things to yourself may not work. One has to express in order to be noticed. Suppose you are doing every job perfectly, maintaining your responsibilities without any fault or in a word, you have become a perfect example to get a promotion, but no one is noticing your progress, this can prove to be a roadblock in your way to promotion. As a solution, you cannot wait for others to notice you. You have to highlight your proficiencies—participate in events, take responsibilities, help others, come up with suggestions in front of others.
Not Planning for Promotion
In order to get promotion, first of all you should have a plan. One thing you should keep in mind is that you should think not only about yourself but your team. If you are able to take best steps for the team it will be a plus point for you towards getting a promotion. Plan everything prior. If you are promoted, train the person who’ll take your position.
