With an IQ of 190, Garry Kasparov, the Russian grandmaster who holds the record for the longest reign as number one, is slotted at the seventh position. In the year 1985, this genius reached the pinnacle of glory by becoming the youngest world champion, dethroning the then champion Anatoly Karpov, at a tender age of 22.
