Putting up an “appropriately professional” photo of oneself to get a higher recognition is a must.  While it is fine to look friend, one must maintain a sense of professionalism at the same time. to get a clear picture, for example the users  profile picture on facebook and that of his/her LinkedIn picture, must be distinguished between formal and informal setting.
