BANGALORE: The longer your career as an IT professional is, the more skills you get to learn. But unfortunately that is no more the reality as the IT field is not constant and changes so rapidly where many of the skills you posses become obsolete in no time. So, check out the list of IT skills that are getting obsolete and that will no longer help you get a job, as compiled by Esther Shein of The Enterprising CIO.



Windows XP/2003: Many IT professionals, from engineers to help desk support staff to system administrators, by far have significant knowledge of using windows XP operating systems. But unfortunately, this may no longer be a useful skill to showcase as windows plans to completely seal this operating system. This, despite the fact that Windows XP operating system holds the 2nd spot for desktop operating system market share (just behind Windows 7), This is mainly because the operating systems are getting outdated as the users are no longer opting for it. And the other drawback is that new applications no longer support this operation system. Microsoft has already ended XP license sales and plans to stop the software that supports it too, by less than a year from now.
