As the name indicates, these are tech professionals who plan, administer, test and implement computer databases.



Presently, these big data experts are in high demand and their pay packages are growing at a staggering pace. As per Michael Kirven, the reason behind the demand for these professionals is mainly the heavy investment and the pursuit to drive top line revenues by some of the top corporate houses in this industry. He also added that, CMOs for the first time are building their own big data departments’ that are independent of the CIO and this having a positive impact on the pay packages of these professionals.   



Data warehouse engineers draw pay packages that are roughly around 1.99 lakh to 9.53 lakh per annum, as listed by PayScale.
