BANGALORE: So you want a high-paying job? Well Instead of choosing the typical doctor, lawyer, or a broker path where competition is steep, a good strategy might be to look out for some unexpected careers jobs with high salaries. Here are certain jobs that nobody dreams of doing when they grow up. However, some of these careers come along with unexpectedly high salaries that one might expect. Here is a list of those jobs that pay unexpectedly well compared to the traditional ones, as reported by Alison Doyle of About.com.



Air Traffic Controller: No surprises here! Air traffic controller is a high profile but risky job. But when it comes to salary, it ranked first on the list. Air traffic controllers are devised to manage aircraft through all aspects of the flight that includes safety, followed by arrivals and departures. Traffic controllers are the individuals who control towers at airports, but it is said that majority of them actually work in area control centers. These trained professionals are responsible for the en-route stage of the aircraft, using radar to track its exact position, keeping it safe in the airspace and providing the best possible route. Air traffic controllers require an FAA-recognized education program or a related degree.

Air Traffic Controller makes an average annual salary of 1.96 lakh to 4.80 lakh, reports Hindustan Times.
