Is English Your First Language?



It is not within the legal purview of the employers to know if a particular language is your first language or not.



Although, in order to be acquainted with your language proficiency, employers can ask you about the other languages that you read, speak and write fluently.



What Is Your Nationality Or Which Country Are You From?



For many this question may sound like an un-harmful one, but since the question is used to determine an individual’s nationality, it is deemed as illegal by law.



Employers do not have the legal authority to come up with questions that are targeted at obtaining information about an individual’s national origin, but they can ask whether a certain individual is authorized to live and work in a particular nation.
