6. Washington and Lee University

Washington and Lee University is nestled in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley. This liberal arts college offers its 2,000 undergrads a strong alumni network that helps them find jobs fresh out of undergrad.

About 40 percent of the students are enrolled at the university's Williams School of Commerce, Economics and Politics, which grooms them for big money jobs at Wall Street banks and major consulting and accounting firms. Alumni work for a number of well-known firms including J.P. Morgan, Deutsche Bank, and Ernst & Young. The starting salary for the graduates is $ 50,700 which will make the mid-year salary up to $ 124,300

7. Stevens Institute of Technology

Stevens Institute is located just across the river from New York City. It is just a quick train ride from some of the most powerful and innovative companies in the world. The school takes advantage of that fact by taking a very hands-on role in finding and placing students in internships and jobs post-graduation.

About 60 percent of students in the class of 2013 who landed jobs within six months of graduation were hired in the manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and engineering and finance industries. Their starting salary is $65,300 which makes up the mid-salary as $ $118,700.
