7. Denver   



Boasted by a 3.1 percent salary bump and a median wage that is in the range of $93,915, Denver moved up one spot compared to the previous year's survey. This salary bump also surpassed the national average by a hale and hearty 0.5 percent, which is noteworthy.



6. New York



A 4.7 percent rise in tech pay catapulted New York from 11th slot to 6th position this year. Whereas the average IT salaries in this city was approximately $93,915, which is an increase by $4,246 compared to the previous year.



5. Boston



With an average salary that is around $94,531, Boston is the next entry in the list. The Hub swapped its position with Seattle in this year's survey. This is largely due to the fact that the city experienced a 0.2 percent dip in pay compared to the previous year.
