1. Film And Television Institute Of India (FTII), Pune
This institute is one of top most when it comes to learning film direction. The school runs autonomously under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt. of India. It was founded in the year 1960 and offers 3-year Post Graduate Diploma in Direction.  The course has only 12 seats available and candidates require attending an entrance exam. Subhash Ghai, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Raj Kumar Hirani are the popular alumni of this institute.
