Wipro Technologies to Launch Internship Program for Engineering Grads from UK

Bangalore: Bangalore Based Wipro Technologies has announced the launch of India Gateway, which is an internship program for engineering graduates from the British Universities, reports Indu Nandakumar, on “The Economic Times”.



The internships will begin from July 2012 and 20 students are expected to arrive in India by the second week of September month, reported a statement released by the company.



This program is a one year training program and it involves a three month thorough technology training course and it is followed by six month on the job training with the Wipro teams. In the last three months of the one year training, students will have to work on live projects that the company is executing.



This program is mainly aimed on engineering graduates and also on the engineering students who are in their final year of engineering degrees. Candidates will be tested on problem solving abilities and business communication skills as well. Before inviting the top twenty performers to participate in the program, Wipro’s talent acquisition team is going to interview them and shortlist them to join the program.
