New Delhi: Israel pitched for greater collaboration with India in fields of education, technology and academic research.

"Education and R&D are the comparative advantage of both Israel and India. Collaboration in these fields is the key to our shared future and a crucial part of our burgeoning relationship," Yuval Steinitz, the first Israeli finance minister to visit India in over a decade, said here.

Steinitz will attend the Delhi Economic Conclave, organized by CII and the finance ministry.

Steinitz will meet Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, and discuss platforms for promoting mutual R&D in top-end technology and collaboration in academic research, the Israeli embassy said here.

He is also expected to meet Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal, Minister of State for Science and Technology Ashwani Kumar, National Security Advisor Shivshankar Menon and Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia.
