Indian Men Most Dissatisfied Workers in the World
Bangalore: According to a report ‘The Path Forward’ released by Accenture, Indian men [72 percent] are among the most dissatisfied workers in the world after the Brazilian men [74 percent]. The survey also reported that in India, women cited lack of good opportunities and heavy workload as the reasons behind their dissatisfaction with their jobs. But for the men, it was totally a different reason because for them the inadequate pay was considered as the main reason behind their dissatisfaction. The overall job satisfaction in India is at 34 percent, whereas in the global level it is 42 percent, reports the Business Standard.
The survey showed 78 percent of the Indian women are managing their careers well and it is also reported that many of the respondents from developing countries are taking greater interest regarding their careers than compared to the workers from developed economies. Apart from the employees from India, China and the United Kingdom, many of the employees’ careers are not managed at all. In India, both men and women strongly believe in the fact that women are equal to men in the workforce. Over 64 percent of Indian men have sacrificed their precious time that had to be spent with their family to succeed in their professional life and this percentage is considered to be the highest in the world.

In the interest of, and out of respect for the fact that vast numbers of our people are trapped in abject poverty, a return, at least in part, to our austerity days must be considered. There are numerousways to bring this about without going into a monastic existence - put a cap on the incomes at the top - let them be close to/at par with what is acceptable post Wall Street or post Enron/ Arthur Anderson/Madoff (?)/ Rajaratnam etc etc...but not so that you build a 67 storey home for a family of five. Let the beautiful cars come but restrict litres to not more than 3.0 in normal cases and 4.8 in extraordinary cases (races/ rallying/ displays etc. Play Polo, race the best of horses, awardhuge prizes sure but find the means to make them one-offs per annum...
designers and fashion sure but cap the prices....If you are seriously rich and don't know what else to do with your money, go and splurge in the splurge capitals of the world - noshame or criminality attached. Point is bring the starkness down. It's bad enough at every traffic light, but to even try to contemplate the grossness is hurtful. Plain and simple. If we are as great as we make ourselves out to be , I am sure that real and applicable and workable and satisfactory indices/ benchmarks/ yardsticks can well be designed so that aspirations and struggle can actually be redeemed in realistic styles of decency and acceptability.
