IGNOU's Online Course in Optics

New Delhi: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) announced admissions for its six-month online certificate course in 'Dispensing Optics' in a bid to develop manpower in the area of primary eyecare.

The varsity's Centre for Paramedical Sciences offers the course which aims to educate opticians and impart specific skills in delivering quality and consistent eye care to people enhancing existing skills for eye care professionals as well as opticians.

"It shall thus create a sustainable resource to provide basic eye care and combat the prevalence of preventable blindness," said a statement by IGNOU.

"The last date for submission of applications is Dec 15. A late fee of 200 would be imposed between Dec 15 and 30," it added.
