Bangalore: Do you like spending your working hours on Facebook? If yes, then you should definitely know that you are not the only one who likes to spend hours on Facebook while at work. According to a recent study conducted by Salary.com named “Wasting Time at Work 2012” survey found that 41 percent of time wasters at work visit Facebook.

The survey that was performed from February to March 2012 by Salary.com involved more than 3,000 professionals, of which 64 percent revealed that they visit websites unrelated to work each day. Although this number is quite high, surprisingly it is quite low from 74 percent in 2008. Based on their evaluation, Salary.com believed that the percentage of time wasters are less than 2008 because employees are busier in a bad economy, or are more cautious of wasting time in a period of suppression.

While many people like to spend hours of work updating, liking statuses and commenting on pictures on Facebook, the survey found that 46 percent of employees spend hours looking for new jobs and 37 percent of the hired hands like to visit the popular professional networking site LinkedIn.

Focusing on how much time do people actually waste while at work, the survey found that 21 percent spend five hours a week on personal activities and only 3 percent spend 10 hours a week on non-work activities.
