62 Percent of Indian Workers Take Sick Leave to Relax at Home

Bangalore: Do you prefer to call in sick just to chill out at home? If yes, then you must certainly know that you are not the only one who takes sick leaves in order to relax at home, there are many employees in the world who call in sick just to sleep or to watch television finds a global survey, commissioned by “The Workforce Institute at Kronos”. Amongst the countries surveyed India and China topped the list where most employees admitted of calling in sick when they were not actually sick reveals rediff.com.



The survey was conducted involving employees in the countries like India, Australia, Canada, China, France, Great Britain, Mexico and the U.S. 71 percent of Chinese employees admitted to pretending to be sick and chilling out at home, which is followed by the India, where 62 percent of employees admitted of taking a sick leave when they were not actually sick. 58 percent of Australian employees claimed to calling in sick when they were not truly sick. The other countries where majority of recruits were found admitting to take false sick leaves were Canada (52 percent), the U.S. (52 percent), Great Britain (43 percent) and Mexico (38 percent).
